Disclaimer: this is silly. I mean, it’s not. But it’s also obviously not the most important thing one could solve for right now.

All the same, it’s been a welcome creative diversion the past couple weeks from the black hole of anxiety we’re currently circling.

And when so much of your human interaction happens over video, every little improvement helps minimize the virtual barrier.

So anyway, here’s the premise

We pour billions of dollars every year into designing and building corporate workspaces. …

Screw it

I just saw the news about eBay’s user data being hacked, adding yet another to a long list of similar events. The warning issued is the same as always:

“Change your passwords!”

Nope, not gonna do it.

First of all, it shouldn’t be my responsibility to clean up after a website’s mess. If a site gets hacked, and they think it’s critical that passwords be reset, then just reset them. Make me verify my identity and set a new password next time I login, quick and easy.

And secondly, if I actually changed my passwords every time a new site…

So I did them a favor and cancelled my service

I’ve been getting voicemails lately about going over a new 300 GB data cap currently being tested in Atlanta, and no matter how I try, I can’t seem to get my usage below the mark.

So I just got off the phone with Comcast support after canceling my service. Her advice to me, and I kid you not:

“Why don’t you just stop using Netflix so much and order more TV channels instead?”

Hahaha. Yeah, and I’ll stop reading news online and start getting the paper delivered. Heck, while I’m at it, I’ll lay off email and Twitter and just…

The answer: most people

People have iPads now. It’s pretty cool.

I hear a lot of people talking about how they’re just inches away from not needing a computer anymore.

“This tablet is all I really need. It’s only a matter of time before blah blah blah”

Most of your day must be writing or reading then, and if so, that’s awesome. My wife’s a writer. If this were the past, you’d be arguing that a clean desk and a little paper are all you need.

You know, something like this

Or maybe just a chair and a good book.
